Prospective Ph.D. Students

I am recruiting Ph.D. students to join my research group in the Division of Electrical Engineering at Louisiana State University (LSU) starting in Spring 2027 or Fall 2027.

My group will work on AI, machine learning, optimization, LLM agents, and trustworthy decision-making for cyber-physical infrastructure, with applications in energy systems, smart cities, mobility, and sustainable intelligent systems.

About The Research Group

The group will develop intelligent decision-making methods for complex real-world systems. Research directions include:

  • AI and machine learning for decision-making under uncertainty
  • Large language models and AI agents for planning, reasoning, and decision support
  • Multi-agent systems and distributed coordination
  • Trustworthy, robust, risk-aware, and secure AI
  • Optimization and learning for power, energy, mobility, smart buildings, and smart cities
  • Sustainable and carbon-aware intelligent systems

About LSU

Students will join the Division of Electrical Engineering at Louisiana State University, a research environment with opportunities to work across AI, engineering, infrastructure, and energy-related domains.

Who Should Apply

I welcome applicants who are excited about one or more of the following areas:

  • Machine learning and optimization
  • Large language models and AI agents
  • Multi-agent systems and decision-making under uncertainty
  • Power and energy systems
  • Cyber-physical systems, smart cities, mobility, and infrastructure
  • Trustworthy, robust, and sustainable AI

Strong applicants may have backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer science, operations research, applied mathematics, civil engineering, or related fields. Experience with Python, machine learning, optimization, control, power systems, or scientific computing is helpful, but intellectual curiosity and research motivation are most important.

How To Express Interest

Prospective students should complete the Google Form linked below if they are interested in joining my group as a Ph.D. student. The form will ask for links to application materials rather than file uploads, which keeps the process lightweight and easier to review.

Students should also follow the official LSU graduate application process and deadlines.
